Teaching a respect for the environment and the planet is a key part of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme. These lessons are not excluded to once-off events or select days to raise awareness but are built into the curriculum and carried across each subject area. The results of these lessons can be seen in student projects and work such as in the Grade 5 Exhibition, the Invention Convention and the Grade 10 Personal Project. In these projects, you see students choosing to create initiatives and products that protect the environment, promote renewable energy, reduce waste, conserve water and more. WISS students are well informed on matters of the environment; they are conscious of the current issues in environmental sustainability in the world and they take action to make a difference as individuals and as a collective.
