At the Western International School of Shanghai (WISS), community service is one of the four pillars of education, emphasizing the importance of nurturing responsible global citizens. This commitment is vividly demonstrated through various initiatives that engage students in meaningful activities, fostering social responsibility and empathy. A recent highlight was the blood drive organized in collaboration with Bloodline-Y, led by Sayuri, a dedicated student at WISS with a strong interest in medicine.
The blood drive initiative aimed to change perceptions about blood donation among Sayuri's peers and encourage their active participation in this vital cause. The event served as both a donation collection point and an educational platform, where students, parents, and medical professionals gathered to discuss the significance of blood donation. Under the guidance of Ms. Jessica Kaufman, WISS's Director of Community Service, Sayuri showcased her leadership skills and passion for helping others.
