WISS started the new school year as a community with our first parent welcome event. For School leadership, it is always a pleasure to meet and gather with our families to create opportunities to form a cohesive school-parent relationship and to make our families, new and returning, feel at home and part of the WISS Community.
WISS Coffee Mornings are always a great opportunity to catch up, make new friends and connect with members of the parent community over freshly brewed coffee and delectable canapés.This event was an excellent opportunity for the parent community to connect and marked the first meet and greet with WISS's new Head of School, Mr. David Edwards.
Our dedicated Parent Ambassadors did an excellent job supporting the event. They welcomed all arriving families and helped create a warm and vibrant atmosphere.

"Being in a new country and a new environment, especially a new school, it was essential to have someone to help me get around the new school and explore the city. For me is a privilege to help and welcome new parents to our Community."

"We were warmly welcomed to WISS when we started at kindergarten. Relocating to a new school can be very challenging, but with the parent ambassadors' warm welcome, we could easily settle in as part of the WISS Community. Being an Ambassador now brings back fond memories of how other parents helped us when we arrived. We feel it is important to pass on the warm feeling of helping other families settle down. Thus for us, it became a WISS tradition."

"I felt it's important to volunteer as a Parent Ambassador to help welcome new families to WISS. This allows me to make new families feel that WISS is not just a school where we send our children for an education but also a place where parents can extend their help in a community.Hence, this event provides us with a natural platform to connect with other families and spread the community spirit. Without a go-to platform, we would not know How or Where to seek information. Being able to reach out and engage with the Community, new families would gain a sense of belonging in a new environment. "
Clara Dan Parent Ambassador and mum of a Secondary student at WISS
"As I have experienced being a parent in a new school for my child, I strongly believe it is important for new families to feel welcomed by their new school. Therefore, as a parent Ambassador, this was a great experience to connect and interact with other families to share our WISS community spirit. These events that WISS host helps families - whether they've been a part of WISS for a while or new - to connect with one another to strengthen our bond and allow us to be one as a community."
Our Community is what makes us a great school. True to our spirit of maintaining community connections, our school will continue to plan and organize various parent and community activities to grow and strengthen sustainable relationships. We hope to see you soon! Check out the upcoming events on the WISS website.
