The Western International School of Shanghai (WISS) is a leader in international education in Shanghai. A WISS Education offers a robust but balanced academic program and is unique as the first and only full continuum International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in Mainland China. Throughout its long history, WISS has been educating young people from across the globe in a caring and inspirational environment since 2006. WISS strives to send compassionate, brave, ethically-minded global citizens into the world. As an IB World School, WISS is uniquely placed to promote new perspectives and broaden the minds of the children in our care, deepening their sense of understanding and wonder.
Our small student-teacher ratio allows our students a personalized and flexible learning experience. WISS emphasizes student-centered learning, both inside and outside the classroom walls. Our balanced curriculum allows students to choose from various creative arts courses and athletic offerings.
At the Western International School of Shanghai, we offer a globalized international education to students ages 2.5-17+. Throughout these age groups, our academics strongly focus on student-centered learning. We combine academic rigor with a focus on creative arts through our visual arts, music, and performing arts programs.
